Leslie Lillard is a Nusura senior project manager and emergency management specialist. She has twelve years of experience in emergency management with specialized expertise in congressional and intergovernmental relations, and disaster response and recovery leadership.
From 1997 to 2005 she served as an external affairs officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She was responsible for cultivating effective working relationships with public officials at the local, state and federal level. Lillard was appointed as the lead congressional liaison officer for one of FEMA's three National Emergency Response Teams (ERT-N) and assisted in the development of the ERT-N External Affairs Strategic Plan. In 2006 Lillard was selected to serve as executive officer for FEMA's Disaster Assistance Directorate, where she provided direction for the development and administration of disaster assistance policies, including those related to the evacuation, sheltering and care of disaster survivors.
Since joining Nusura, Leslie has provided emergency management and project management to a variety of Nusura projects, from evacuation planning for people with access and functional needs to risk and crisis communication training and exercises for the food and agricultural sector.
